Terms of use
The service
MetadataRemover provides free, client-side image tools: a metadata cleaner, privacy analyzer, C2PA checker, image diff, invisible watermark, format converter, resizer and EXIF editor. All processing happens in your browser; the site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
Acceptable use
You may use these tools only on images you own or have the right to modify. You are responsible for how you use processed files. In particular:
- Removing metadata, content credentials or provenance information from files you do not own may violate law or platform rules. Where C2PA or similar disclosure is legally required, keep it intact.
- Do not misrepresent the origin of content in contexts where disclosure is mandatory (for example, AI-content labeling laws or marketplace policies).
- Watermarks you embed with the invisible watermark tool are an ownership aid, not legal proof on their own.
These tools are not made to help you break platform rules or the law, and we do not encourage that use. If a platform, marketplace or regulation requires disclosure, follow it.
Your content
Your images stay yours. Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded, so you keep full control of your content at all times. We claim no rights over anything you process with these tools.
No guarantees
We work hard to make the tools accurate, but we do not guarantee that every metadata field in every file format is detected or removed, that outputs are suitable for any specific purpose, or that any third-party platform or AI detector will treat a processed image in any particular way. In particular, removing metadata does not stop a platform from identifying content by other means, such as pixel-level watermarks or visual content analysis. Always verify results that matter.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MetadataRemover and its authors are not liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the service, including lost data, lost profits or platform enforcement actions.
Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time; the current version is always on this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
